Community & Partnerships

Aqualand has long supported arts, cultural and sporting organisations across Sydney. Through these partnerships, we are proud to contribute to the city we call home, helping to foster vibrant, connected and engaged communities.

Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi

Principal Sponsor (2016 to current)

Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi is a world-renowned free exhibition that transforms two kilometres of Sydney’s coastline between Bondi and Tamarama into an outdoor gallery of monumental sculptural works. Since 2016, Aqualand has been proud to support this iconic event, celebrating a decade of meaningful partnership in 2025.

Our ongoing commitment includes the Aqualand Sculpture Award, one of Australia’s most significant sculpture prizes. In 2024, Professor Shen Lieyi was named the recipient, becoming the first Asian sculptor to receive the prestigious $100,000 award for his striking work, Tracing.

This enduring partnership reflects Aqualand’s commitment to creativity, culture and community – values that are deeply embedded in who we are and the city we call home.

“As a long-time supporter of local arts and cultural organisations, we see great synergy between Aqualand and Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi through an aligned vision and values. Supporting and celebrating Australian arts and fostering exceptional talent is important to us, and we’re thrilled to sponsor this unique and internationally acclaimed exhibition, which nurtures emerging creative talent.” Aqualand Managing Director, Jin Lin

Art Gallery of New South Wales

Leadership Partner (2016 to current)

As a long-standing supporter of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Aqualand has recently expanded its partnership to include the naming of the atrium within the Gallery’s new north building.

Known as the Aqualand Atrium, this striking architectural space brings together art, architecture and place, providing visitors with an inspiring setting to experience major works from the Gallery’s collection, displayed across the rammed earth wall and adjoining galleries.

The partnership reflects Aqualand’s enduring commitment to supporting the arts and contributing to Sydney’s cultural landscape.

“We’re proud to be a leadership partner of the Art Gallery of New South Wales and to support its exciting expansion as an ongoing investment in Australian arts and culture. As a property, hospitality and investment company, Aqualand prides itself on pushing creative boundaries and we’re delighted to support the incredible opportunities that are being offered for artists and audiences through the Sydney Modern Project. Supporting culture and the arts is deeply rooted in our DNA and it makes me extremely proud to know we’re helping to leave a legacy for future generations to experience and appreciate all the forms of art that will be showcased in this amazing new cultural destination.” Jin Lin, Group Managing Director, Aqualand
