Aqualand and Sculpture by the Sea: Eleven Years Supporting Art, Community and Culture
Each year, Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi transforms Sydney’s coastline. The one of a kind exhibition brings together artists, residents and visitors to experience the contrast between contemporary sculpture against one of the city’s most recognisable natural landscapes. This year marked the 30th anniversary of Sculpture by the Sea, celebrating three decades of creativity, artistic expression and community connection along the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk.
Aqualand returned as Principal Sponsor for the 11th consecutive year, supporting one of Sydney’s most celebrated cultural events, and giving out the Aqualand Sculpture Award to one deserving winner.
The Aqualand Sculpture Award
A highlight of this year’s exhibition was the presentation of the Aqualand Sculpture Award, with the $70,000 prize awarded to NSW artist Harrie Fasher for her work Unveiling the Edges of the Sky.
Set against the Bondi coastline, Unveiling the Edges of the Sky formed part of an exhibition that invited visitors to pause, explore and engage with art beyond the traditional gallery setting.
For Aqualand, supporting the award is an opportunity to recognise the talent and dedication behind these works while contributing to the continued vitality of Sydney’s cultural landscape.

Eleven Years as Principal Sponsor
Aqualand’s 11-year partnership with Sculpture by the Sea reflects an ongoing appreciation for the role art plays in shaping the character of a city and enriching the experiences of its communities.
Art has the ability to transform how people experience a place. It introduces new perspectives, creates moments of discovery and encourages connections between people and their surroundings.
This perspective is closely connected to Aqualand’s approach to luxury property development. The experience of a home extends beyond its architecture and interiors, shaped by the surrounding environment, the details that make everyday life more considered and the cultural and lifestyle experiences available within a neighbourhood.
Aqualand’s Live Better philosophy reflects this broader understanding of living well. It’s about looking beyond the physical spaces we create and also considering the experiences, connections and environments that enrich people’s lives.
Our commitment to Sculpture by the Sea sits alongside our support for other cultural initiatives, including our partnership with the Art Gallery of New South Wales. These relationships reflect a shared appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship and the enduring value of artistic expression.

Beyond the Built Environment
As a luxury property, hospitality and investment group, Aqualand recognises that the qualities that define an exceptional place extend beyond the built environment. Thoughtful design, considered detail, iconic surroundings and access to cultural experiences all contribute to how people connect with the places they call home.
Supporting Sculpture by the Sea is one way we contribute to this wider vision for Sydney, helping sustain an exhibition that brings art into the public realm and creates a shared experience for both residents and visitors.
As the exhibition celebrates 30 years, Aqualand is proud to mark 11 years as Principal Sponsor and to continue supporting the artists, cultural experiences and community connections that help make Sydney such a distinctive place to live.
Congratulations to all the artists for another outstanding exhibition.
