Hickson Road, Barangaroo NSW
Central Barangaroo will be the public heart of the waterfront precinct of Barangaroo, linking the natural beauty of Barangaroo Reserve and the bustling commercial district of Barangaroo South.
Central Barangaroo will be the cultural and civic focal point of Barangaroo – a place for everyone to visit, explore, enjoy and learn.
When complete more than 50 per cent of the precinct will feature extraordinary public open spaces and parkland – most of it adjoining Sydney Harbour. Central Barangaroo will feature world-class architecture, public art, and new places for people to live, work, dine out or relax.
The revitalised waterfront precinct of Barangaroo will be a global exemplar for design, sustainability, and public domain. Aqualand’s Central Barangaroo team are working with Sydney architectural practise SJB to revitalise the masterplan to deliver an exceptional city-shaping destination for all of Sydney to enjoy.
Central Barangaroo is the final chapter in the development of the Barangaroo waterfront.
The Barangaroo precinct is well-served by public transport links including the ferry terminal and wharf, and Wynyard Walk, which provides a convenient pedestrian link to train services.
Construction work for the Barangaroo Sydney Metro station, due to open in 2024, is well underway and will make Barangaroo one of the most accessible parts of Sydney’s CBD, with trains running every 4-5 minutes:
A barren site on prime land at Barangaroo could be transformed to include a luxury 200-room hotel with a roof top pool,150 apartments, and a swathe of restaurants and bars.
We’re excited to reveal new initial concepts for our landmark harbour front Central Barangaroo precinct. “Our focus is on delivering an exceptional city-shaping lifestyle destination for all Sydneysiders and visitors to enjoy, with a generous and dynamic public ground plane activated by restaurants, cafes, bars and high-street retail stores.”
Leading Australian development group, Aqualand, is now the sole developer of the final stage of the Central Barangaroo harbour front precinct, securing the retail investment rights following Scentre Group’s departure from the project.
